About Laurie

Laurie is the former owner/current employee of Sass Accounting in Saukville, Wisconsin. Since 1993,
the firm has grown to over 800 clients, including more than 200 small businesses. In addition to
being an Enrolled Agent, she is a QuickBooks Certified Pro-Advisor, providing business
consultation, education, and support services.

She has a Bachelor’s Degree from Lakeland College with a double major in Accounting and
Business Administration and a minor in Economics. She also has two associate degrees from
Milwaukee Area Technical College, one in Business Data Processing and one in Accounting. In
March, 2004, she added becoming an Enrolled Agent to her list of accomplishments and she
became a Graduate Fellow of the National Tax Practice Institute in 2007.

Laurie has served four years on the NAEA Board of Directors including two years as
Secretary/Treasurer, is a past member of the NAEA Affiliate Council and previously served on
the NAEA Ethics Committee, Government Relations Committee, Audit Committee, Reserves
Tax Force, Planning Tax Force, Young Professionals Task Force Review Group and Finance
Task Force. She is a Past President of the Wisconsin Society of Enrolled Agents and previously
served as State Treasurer and Director. She is also actively involved with numerous local
charitable organizations.

Laurie is the recipient of the Governor’s Trailblazer Award – Pioneer Award for Women in Business 2018, for being a female business owner for 25 years.
